Afterthought: Curatorial Conversations #280
On 18 September, Hong Kong Design Centre gathered curators, exhibition designers and guests, including colleagues from Central Saint Martins, at The Chamber in DX design hub for Curatorial Conversations #280. I took part in two fireside chats: The Life Cycle of Curation, with Eddy Yu and Westley Wong of Design to Bridge, and Curation and Community, with the curators of Meow-cation and Browse and Found in Sham Shui Po. It all happened in the building where Fading Out / In is on view.
Workshop on Innovation and Design
I was invited to give a talk to the Education Bureau on innovation and circular design. Without knowing much about the audiecne, I began with one question: how many Earths would we need if everyone lived the way we do?
All Things Circular
In September 2025, the show we first made for Dutch Design Week came home to Hong Kong. All Things Circular: Hong Kong Designers’ Circular Innovation ran from 8 September to 24 November 2025 at the Design Museum in DX design hub, Sham Shui Po. It was organised by Hong Kong Design Centre with the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Hong Kong and Macao. I co-curated it with HKDC.
Designing Circularity
In October 2023, Hong Kong Design Centre took a design showcase to Dutch Design Week. ((Capsule)) Hong Kong Design Showcase filled Microlab Hall in Eindhoven’s Strijp-S district from 21 to 29 October. Story Lab co-curated and produced it with HKDC and Number2, and I designed the space.
Designing The Full Gamut in an old factory building
An old factory is not an obvious home for a fashion show, so we first had to turn it into a place fit for exhibition. Fashion usually relies on glowing, polished light. We chose cardboard instead, a recyclable material that makes you think about what the industry leaves behind.
Towards Architecture and Beyond: Speaking at the M3 Symposium in New York
During the New York run of M3: Beyond Territories, I was invited to speak at the symposium organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects. I want to explore a simple question: what happens when architecture becomes an exhibition?
